Mistelhain: Start-Up from Bavaria Shakes Up Tonic Sector

Newly founded in 2020 Mistelhain have created a range of unique mixers. Whether it is the ingredients, manufacturing or packaging – high quality beyond the standard and sustainability are always at the heart of the young company’s philosophy.
Only natural ingredients are used to manufacture the tonics in a new way. According to Mistelhain their processes allow all the elements and their aromas to interact and support each other.
As a result, they have a high compatibility with most gins and other spirits supporting their botanicals, without taking over on taste and bitterness.
For now, there are three different varieties of mixers available: “Ambition”, “Signature” and “Trend”. The 200ml glass bottles are decorated with self-adhesive labels that combine a classic glossy black with metallic colours.
Thanks to the reverse print the material surface provides the labels with a polished look, while the inks are safely enclosed for ideal appearance all through their journey.
Besides the premium appearance the decoration by CCL Label can be removed inside the bottle washer once they are returned. This patented WashOff technology works with standard washing settings and even a range of different water temperatures.

“With CCL’s labels we have a very good wash-off solution, even if the bottles have been exposed to sun light after consumption. In Germany we have a bottle return system which requires that soft drink bottles are reused many times. We are sure to be able to wash off the labels, sterilize the bottles and use them again and again and the filling plant will not get clogged up with label rests”, says Mistelhain’s Managing Director Alena Mehringer.
