CCL Label supplied Heineken UK with special shrink sleeves to create an eye-catching limited edition of Tiger Beer for the Chinese New Year celebrations.
New Year is one of the most important festivals for the Chinese. According to the lunar calendar New Years Day 2016 will be on 8th February.
Heineken UK & CCL created a special sleeve to decorate the 660ml bottles of Tiger Beer for the UK market in a way that will especially appeal to consumers celebrating the Chinese New Year.
The design follows Chinese themes – the centrepiece is a Tiger – a strong symbol. The sleeves are rotogravure printed in 5 colours with a high opacity white to minimise the effect of the brown bottle on the vibrant colours.
CCL Label chose a high shrink PET film, which was steam shrunk onto filled glass bottles at A&S Packaging (Yorkshire) in Rotherham. CCL Label worked closely with both Heineken and A&S to ensure that striking and visually appealing bottles of beer will be part of Chinese New Year celebrations in the UK.
