A large pharmaceutical manufacturer wanted an RFID tag hidden behind the label of their product that would integrate with the current hospital’s RFID System. The RFID tag would enable the automation of inventory and replenishment processes, provide cost benefits and workflow efficiencies to the hospital systems that competitors are currently not providing.
The current RFID product offered to the pharmaceutical company was a flag label which would force them to redesign and re-qualify their entire label, costing time and money. CCL Healthcare was approached to design a label that could carry the RFID tag underneath the current label, without changing artwork, label size, or any other specification. This posed a serious challenge for CCL Healthcare.
