DoseID

CCL Healthcare joins the DoseID Consortium developed for the use of radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology in the healthcare industry.

DoseID was created to support the quality, performance, and interoperability of tagged drug products as they move through the pharmacy supply chain, from the manufacturer all the way to the patient, across all of the existing systems and software supporting the medication use process. CCL Healthcare sees the value in helping create the standards for RFID for pharmaceutical, medication supply chain, and the healthcare space.

Due to the increased use of RFID in the early stages of product development and packaging throughout the supply chain, it will allow and create the visibility and pedigree of medicine from the compound phase to when it is in final use at hospitals. DoseID takes serialization beyond the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) to the unit level by providing every dose of medication a unique identity and tracking every action during its entire life cycle. DoseID drugs and hardware devices are compliant with RAIN and GS1 standards and tested to ensure performance, interoperability, and it provides complete and accurate data.
